The current Department of Medical Education was originally called the Department of Medical Services and originated in the British Indian state of Madras. This continued until the formation of Andhra State on 1.11.53 with 11 districts of the erstwhile Madras State. The full functioning of the department began on September 29, 1 . Pursuant to Law 6 of 1986 – University of Health Sciences Act 1986 – the NTR University of Health Sciences was established in Vijayawada to establish the teaching and affiliation of the University of Andhra Pradesh and to integrate provide effective and systematic education, trainees and research on Allopathy and India. medicine, dentistry and care systems.
Hence the scientific activity so far under the direction of D.MEs have been posted to NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada since 1986. As the provision of medical care is highly dependent on adequate staffing levels, the Government, after considering the recommendations of various high-level committees such as the Bhore Committee, Mudaliar Committee, Working Groups of Planning Commission and Medical Council of India recommended the improvement of the Employment Models for Teaching Hospitals, Graduate and Medical Schools in G.O.Psalm No. 88, M& H, of August 27, 1977, according to which medical, nursing and paramedical staff are currently present in university hospitals and medical schools.
The teaching staff model in the Government Affiliated Medical Colleges and Teaching Hospitals has been modified as per the Medical Council of India Regulations 1999 and updated as per the new MCI Amendments.
