The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) was formed when the state of Andhra Pradesh was formed on 1 November 1956. Earlier, the commission was known as the Andhra Service Commission (established in 1953) under the Madras Public Service Commission Rules. . . . Later in 1956, APPSC was formed by merger of Andhra Public Service Commission and Hyderabad Public Service Commission. History On the eve of the formation of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, the Andhra Public Service Commission was functioning with a chairman and two members and the Hyderabad Public Service Commission with one member.
So A.P. A public service commission was formed with a chairman and three members. As the workload increased, the board increased the committee to a chairman and 5 members in 1981 and then to a chairman and 7 members in 1983. The Board reviewed the strength again in 199 and increased it to a Chairman and 9 members. This is also the strength of this moment.[1] After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 201 , the headquarters of the PSC was shifted from Telangana to Vijayawada.
