Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka, is a special purpose vehicle responsible for the implementation and operation of the Bangalore Metro Rail project.

The Bangalore Metro, dubbed as the “Namma Metro”, not only adds beauty to the Bangalore skyline, but most importantly provides a safe, fast, reliable and convenient public transportation system. Additionally, the Namma Metro is an important green addition to the city of Bangalore as it significantly reduces carbon emissions. Metro runs 69.66 km.

(a) 39.34 km East-West Corridor: 13.71 km from Krishnarajapura to Whitefield Metro Station (Kadugodi) and 25.63 km from Baiyappanahalli East to Kengeri Terminal East-West

(b) 30.32 km long north-south corridor, starting at Nagasandra in the north and ending at the Silk Institute in the south. This is India’s first Metro Rail project to be commissioned with 750V DC standard gauge third rail traction.
