Employee Notice The State Insurance Act 1948 (ESI Act) passed by Parliament was the first major Occupational Social Security Act in independent India. It was a time when the industry was still in its infancy and the country was heavily dependent on a range of imported products from developed or rapidly developing countries. The social security provisions laid down by law to compensate or offset the physical or financial suffering resulting from such situations therefore aim to protect human dignity in times of crisis by protecting against disadvantage, poverty and social decline, while at the same time enabling society to have a useful and productive life Social life to maintain and continue workers.
