The Gujarat Supreme Court is the Supreme Court of Gujarat. It was incorporated on May 1, 1960 under the Mumbai Reorganization Act 1960 following the separation of Gujarat from Bombay. The seat of the court is Ahmedabad.

The current strength of the Gujarat High Court is 31 against a sanctioned strength of 52, . This Supreme Court was established on May 1, 1960 as a result of the division of the former state of Bombay into the two states of Maharashtra and Gujarat.The Supreme Court has started its work near Akashwani, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad.

Subsequently, on 16 January 1999, the High Court moved to a new building at Sarkhej – Gandhinagar Highway, Sola, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Gujarat High Court has jurisdiction over the entire state of Gujarat. It has jurisdiction over all district, administrative and other courts of Gujarat. This Supreme Court is a magistrate’s court and has the power to punish anyone for contempt of court.
