HAL Recruitment 2023 – 1060 Trade Apprentice Posts Apply Online IndGovtjobs

The history and growth of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has been synonymous with the growth of the Indian aerospace industry for over 79 years. The company, which began as Hindustan Aircraft Limited, was founded on December 23, 19 0 in Bangalore by Shri Walchand Hirachand, a far-sighted visionary, in collaboration with the then Government of Mysore, with the aim of producing aircraft in India. In March 19 1, the Government of India became one of the company’s shareholders and later took over its management in 19 2.

The company began production of the Harlow Trainer and the Curtiss Hawk Fighter in collaboration with the Inter Continental Aircraft Company of the USA. and the Vultee bomber. In January 1951, Hindustan Aircraft Limited was placed under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The company built foreign aircraft and engines such as the Prentice, Vampire and Gnat under license. He also designed and developed aircraft domestically.

In August 1951, the HT-2 Trainer aircraft, designed and manufactured in the company under the leadership of Dr. V.M.Ghatge, flew for the first time. More than 150 trainers were produced and delivered to the Indian Air Force and other customers. With a gradual increase in design capability, the company successfully designed and developed four more aircraft namely the two-seater Pushpak suitable for flying clubs, the Krishak Air Observatory Post (AOP) role, the HF-2 Jet Fighter (Marut). and HJT-16 Basic Jet Trainer (Kiran)”.

Meanwhile, the Government of India established Aeronautics India Limited (AIL) in August 1963 as a wholly owned company to manufacture MiG-21 aircraft under license. Factories were established at Nasik (Maharashtra) and Koraput (Odisha). In June 196 , the Aircraft Production Depot established in Kanpur in 1960 as an air force unit for the production of the HS-7 8 airframe was transferred to AIL.

Soon after, the government decided to merge Hindustan Aircraft Limited with AIL to save resources in the aviation sector, where the technical capacity of the country was limited, and to enable planning and coordination of the activities of all aircraft production departments. in the most efficient and economical way.
