Kolar-Chikkaballapura District Cooperative Maidontuottajaliitto Ltd. (KOMUL) is the second largest district organization of milk producers in Karnataka. It is the regional level apex body for milk cooperatives in Karnataka, which aims to generate remunerative income to farmers by eliminating middlemen and also serving the interests of consumers by providing quality milk and milk products at good value for money. Once Dist. called the land of gold and silk, pushes for high-quality milk production.

KOMUL first installed “large milk coolers and community milking machines” at the community level in the state of Karnataka to obtain the quality milk required for superheated milk packaged under the Nandini “Good-Life” brand at Kolar Dairy. Union currently has a full-fledged dairy plant at Kolar with an installed capacity of 2.0 LLPD and three cooling centers at Chinthaman, Sadli and Gowribidnur with a capacity of 1.0 LLPD each. KOMUL started distribution of liquid milk in polythene bags all over Kolar district and parts of Bangalore city since 199 . Union launched NDDB commemorative label from April 2002 for marketing of liquid milk.
