The West Bengal Public Service Commission or PSCWB (Bengali: পশ্ষেবুগগ জন্ষেবা আজ্গগগ) is a government agency empowered to make West Bengal-level appointments. According to Article 317, the chairman or another member of the Public Service Commission can only be removed from office by order of the president for “misbehavior” after the Supreme Court has declared on the basis of a follow-up inquiry by the president that the chairman or another member should be revoked.
After receiving the report from the Supreme Court, the President may dismiss the chairman of the commission or any other member. According to Section 323, the task of the national commission is to present an annual report to the governor of the state on the work done by the commission, and the task of the joint commission is to present a report to the county governor every year.
for each State whose needs are served by the Joint Committee, a report shall be made of the work done by the Commission in that State, and in either case the Governor, upon receipt of the report, shall send a copy of the same with a memorandum. explaining all the cases in which the advice of the Commission was not accepted, to present the reasons for such non-acceptance to the State Legislature.
