The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was established by an act passed by the Punjab Legislative Assembly in July 1998. The mission of the university is to create an intellectual, academic and physical environment that promotes the free flow of ideas and the exchange of information between the various faculties of the university and between this university and other health science universities at home and abroad, thus opening a window to world for health professionals, health planners, health managers, biomedical and social scientists as well as scientific health educators at national level. •

Established in memory of the great Sufi Saint Baba Farid by the Government of Punjab in July 1998 by Act of the State Legislature. Fifth of its kind in India, first in North India – The Punjab government deserves credit for its establishment. Due to the shortage of health workers (both quantitative and qualitative), the need was immediate.Such a university is expected to “set the pace” by developing healthcare trends and models. The university strives to provide community-focused education and training within the community. training programs for healthcare professionals.
