It is the only University of Gondwana medical school affiliated with Maharashtra Nashik University of Health Sciences. This college is fully funded by the Government of Maharashtra. The university reports to the Mumbai Director of Medical Education and Research (DMER). College is affiliated with MUHS, Nashik. The first group of 100 MBBS students was accepted in July 2015.Admission is via CET/NEET (85% CET State and 15% All India PMT).
On the grounds of T.B. a boarding school is inaugurated. (100 beds). The Chandrapur Civil Hospital (100 beds) and the Maharashtra Public Health Service Tuberculosis Hospital were also merged.The seat of Government Medical College belongs to Chandrapur Women’s College. We have 50 acres of land for new hospital and college buildings built with the latest OR design, infrastructure and amenities.
The opening of this college in Chandrapur has an excellent motto: The district of Chandrapur is an industrial district. There are many branches like Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station, BILT, ACC, Ambuja, Manikgarh etc.can have an impact on public health and lead to various health problems. The MCI license was granted in 2015 to address these issues and enable fast, high-quality processing using state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.
