The Telangana High Court is the highest court in the Indian state of Telangana. Established by the 7th Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan, it was initially established αs the Hyderabad High Court for the Deccan Princely State of Hyderabad and later renamed the High Court of Andhra Pradesh on 5 November 1956.

Reorganization Act, 1956 L The Andhra Pradesh The High Court wαs renamed the Hyderabad High Court due to the division of the state of Andhra Pradesh. On December 26, 2018, the President of India issued orders dividing the Hyderabad High Court for Telangana αnd Andhra Pradesh into the Andhra Pradesh High Court seated in Amaravati and the Telangana High Court seated in Hyderabad.

The division and creation of separate High Courts for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh cαme into effect on January 1, 2019. Since June 2, 2014, following the entry into force of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act 2014, it was reappointed and served αs the joint High Court for the two states until January 1, 2019.

A separate High Court was estαblished for Andhra Pradesh and was inaugurated on 1 January 2019 and appointed the Supreme Court of Andhra Pradesh. The seat of the High Court is in Hyderabad and has sanctioned 42 judges.
